Meet the Officers.Meet the officers for the San Diego State University WTS Chapter
for the 2021-2022 Academic Year! |
Katie DalbyPresidentHi everyone! My name is Katie Dalby and I am a fourth year civil engineering student from San Diego, California! I chose my major because of my love for math, science, and art! I wanted to be able to incorporate all three things into my future career and eventually decided civil engineering was the way to go! My previous position as multimedia coordinator helped to prepare me for this role. I loved getting to know everyone involved and I hope to continue WTS' growth at SDSU. I also gained valuable communication and teamwork skills that I hope to apply in my new role as the President. In addition, I am so excited to see what the new officers have to offer and can bring to the table for the upcoming academic year. I am thrilled to continue WTS and to explore transportation and all it has to offer!
What made you want to join WTS? I joined WTS because of my interest in transportation engineering. I think that as a kid I always wondered who were the people to help build and design our roads and bridges and now I finally get to be a part of a club that explores that! I also think that the sense of community within WTS is amazing! Fun Facts Zodiac Sign: Sagittarius A fun fact about me is that I have a pet chinchilla named Daisy who I absolutely love! She was given to my family by my elementary school's librarian and I have had her for about 10 years! |
Kyra LeachTreasurerHi my name is Kyra Leach, I’m a 4th year civil engineering major and I am the treasurer of WTS. I’m from a small town in northern California. I have experience as a club executive with SWE as the publicity officer and vice president, but would like branch out and serve on the WTS board this year too.

Imerda MokiliSecretaryHi! My name is Imerda Mokili and I am a third year civil engineering major. I am from San Diego and I am a recipient of the Women of Transportation Seminar 2020's scholarship. I have been part of WTS for two years and I was one of the social media managers for the last two years.
What made you want to join WTS? In my first year of college, I saw WTS as an opportunity to learn more about my major. I appreciate how I am more involved in my professional life because of this Chapter. Fun Facts Zodiac Sign: Scorpio A fun fact about me is that I can do a decent Donald Duck Impression. |
Alondra SinhouiSocial Media CoordinatorHello! My name is Alondra Sinhoui I am the social media coordinator of the student chapter. I am majoring in Art-Architecture and Spanish. I have been part of WTS since my first year at SDSU and the journey has been amazing. As my last year here at SDSU I want to take part of WTS as an officer and help others know more about it and what it has to offer. WTS is a club where you have an opportunity to expand your network, grow as a person, and earn scholarships.
What made you want to join WTS? I joined WTS because during my senior year in high school I had the opportunity to participate in their Washington D.C YOU summit! When I got into college I heard there was a WTS student chapter and I wanted to get involved because I was in love with everything that they did. So I joined my freshman year and became secretary for the club. Although I switched majors I am glad I remained in the club because it has had a positive impact on me and I want to help students like they did with me. WTS is a great chapter to be involved with because you have so many opportunities and people to reach out to. It is a great way to make connections and at the same time being involved on campus. Fun Facts Zodiac Sign: Sagittarius A fun fact about me is that I have eaten two whole pizzas by myself. I literally love to eat. |
Dakota Adelphia
Hi! My name is Dakota Adelphia and I am a second year MBA student here at SDSU. I graduated in May of 2020 with a degree in Civil Engineering. I am a first-generation college student, and my dad struggled to help me with the cost of college. I wanted to major in something that would pay dividends in the future, and be worth the student loans I was sure to incur.
What made you want to join WTS? The reason I joined WTS is because I have seen the amazing impacts this organization has on female students. I am excited to be a part of such a phenomenal mission, and as the previous president I plan to stay involved in the coming years and help the student chapter in any way I can. Fun Facts Zodiac Sign: Leo A fun fact about me is that I enjoy hiking! I am currently working on climbing the highest peaks in each of the 50 states. I have climbed the highest peaks in Oregon, California, Utah, Colorado, Arizona, Nevada, and I'm currently planning a trip to the highest peak in Idaho! |
